“General machinery” covers too much to be a selection rule. It is useful only as a starting label. The real coupling requirement still comes from torque, speed, shafts, alignment, starts, shock, environment and maintenance access.
A short technical brief beats a long generic description.
For an OEM machine, tell us what the coupling connects and how the machine runs. For maintenance replacement, add the old coupling markings and measured shaft data. For distribution stock, give the size mix and finished-bore strategy rather than assuming one bore will serve every end user.

Operating torque or power, speed, start frequency and shock.

Both shafts, keyways, hub spacing and available envelope.
Environment
Oil exposure, ambient conditions and any material request.
Commercial scope
Quantity by model, destination and project or stocking purpose.
