NM148 Flexible Coupling
NM148 provides 280 N.m nominal torque, up to 65 mm bore capacity and a rated speed limit of 3000 rpm. It is suited to mid-range pumps, blowers, mixers and machinery when torque, shaft fit, alignment and installation space are all within the model limits.

Fit and machining checks
The 148 mm outside diameter, 107 mm D1 and 80 mm length need to be compared with guards, supports and shaft projections. Large finished bores should be quoted with their keyway and fit so the remaining hub geometry is considered before production.
Where this size fits
Use NM148 for initial review of higher-load pumps, mixers, conveyors and process machinery when the operating torque stays within the model rating. Report loaded starts, reversing or jams separately because transient duty may control the final selection.
Alignment and assembly
Set the hubs to S 3.5 +/- 1.0 mm. The stated radial limit is 0.07 mm and the angular limit is 2.0 degrees. If repeated elastomer wear appears, inspect alignment and hub movement rather than treating the ring as the only maintenance item.
Prepare the NM148 RFQ
For an NM148 order, include shaft diameters and keyways, running rpm, design torque or motor power, starting conditions and quantity. A machine drawing is particularly useful when the requested bore is close to 65 mm.
Material and service conditions
The normal element material is NBR. For demanding environments, specify temperature and oil or chemical contact plus any requested alternative material or hardness in the commercial enquiry.
Compare the nearest NM sizes
If the application needs more than 280 N.m or a bore larger than 65 mm, compare NM168. If duty and bore are lower, NM128 can be checked to reduce overall diameter and length.
