Product appearance varies with coupling size and finished bore. Use the model table below for dimensions and send both shaft details for machining.
NM214 Flexible Coupling
NM214 provides 1000 N.m nominal torque, up to 95 mm bore capacity and a rated speed limit of 1500 rpm. It is suited to higher-torque pumps, compressors and process equipment when torque, shaft fit, alignment and installation space are all within the model limits.
NM214 technical data
NM214 is the largest listed NM size, rated at 1000 N.m nominal torque with a 95 mm maximum bore. Its role is straightforward: it provides the highest capacity in this range, but the machine must also accept a 214 mm diameter, 110 mm length and 1500 rpm speed limit.
| Model | Nominal torque | Speed limit | D | D1 | d max | L | S | Radial | Angular |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| NM214 | 1000 N.m | 1500 rpm | 214 mm | 157 mm | 95 mm | 110 mm | 4.0 +/- 2.0 mm | 0.10 mm | 2.0 deg |
D, D1, d max, L, S and radial values are in millimetres. Angular displacement is shown in degrees. On smaller screens, drag the table horizontally to view all columns.
Fit and machining checks
Large shafts make bore geometry critical. Provide the actual 95 mm-or-smaller shaft dimensions, keyways, fits and shoulders rather than a rounded nominal size. Also confirm the guard and adjacent structures can clear the full coupling envelope.
Where this size fits
Use NM214 only when the higher capacity is justified by the real torque and shaft interface. Large pumps, process drives and compressor-related machinery may fall into this class, but starts and transient loads still need to be stated for the application.
Alignment and assembly
Set the model to S 4.0 +/- 2.0 mm and keep radial misalignment within 0.10 mm and angular misalignment within 2.0 degrees. On large machinery, re-check these values after the final base, piping and connected-equipment loads are applied.
Prepare the NM214 RFQ
An NM214 enquiry should include running rpm, design torque or motor power, both shaft diameters and keyways, quantity, destination and any controlled fit or material request. Drawings are recommended when the bores or shoulders are close to the model envelope.
Material and service conditions
NBR is the standard flexible-element material for this range. For a large drive with elevated heat or aggressive fluids, state the exposure and requested polymer or hardness explicitly so the quotation reflects it.
Compare the nearest NM sizes
NM214 has no larger model in this listed NM range. If its 1000 N.m torque or 95 mm bore is still insufficient, the application should move to a different coupling selection rather than assuming another NM size exists.
