NM194 Flexible Coupling

NM194 provides 840 N.m nominal torque, up to 85 mm bore capacity and a rated speed limit of 1500 rpm. It is suited to higher-torque pumps, compressors and process equipment when torque, shaft fit, alignment and installation space are all within the model limits.

NM194 technical data

NM194 moves into the large end of the NM range with 840 N.m nominal torque and an 85 mm maximum bore. Unlike NM168, its rated speed limit is 1500 rpm, so speed becomes a decisive selection check rather than a secondary line in the table.

Fit and machining checks

This coupling is 194 mm in outside diameter and 100 mm long. Allow enough room for the rotating envelope, guard and maintenance access, and verify that shaft shoulders do not interfere with the required hub position.

NM194 can be evaluated for higher-torque pumps, compressor auxiliaries and process equipment that operate within the 1500 rpm limit. Provide start method, load changes and shock details because the large nominal rating does not replace a duty review.

Alignment and assembly

The specified S value is 3.5 +/- 1.5 mm. Radial misalignment is limited to 0.10 mm and angular misalignment to 2.0 degrees. A heavy machine train should be aligned after piping, guards and other connected loads are in their final condition.

Material and service conditions

The standard ring material is NBR. If the installation has heat, oil, chemicals or a specified elastomer hardness, include those conditions so the quoted element matches the service requirement.
