“Bore to suit motor” is not enough information for a coupling order. The coupling connects two shafts, and they are often different. A useful RFQ names the driving side and driven side separately.
Give the shaft diameter exactly.
Keep the dimension in the unit used on the machine drawing. If the shaft is 1.375 in, do not round it to a convenient metric size before sending the enquiry. State the keyway and any fit/tolerance requirement that the drawing controls.
Check the selected model’s d max.
The specified maximum bore is a screening value. A request below d max can still need review for hub section, keyway and duty. If the shaft forces a larger model, confirm the new D and L dimensions fit the machine.
